Sports Premium at The Grove Junior School
At The Grove Junior School, we are passionate about promoting physical activity, wellbeing, and a lifelong love of sport. The Sports Premium funding allows us to enhance our PE provision, broaden the range of sporting opportunities available to pupils, and ensure all children can participate, enjoy, and succeed. Guided by pupil voice and our commitment to inclusion, we invest in high-quality teaching, exciting extracurricular clubs, and opportunities to compete and collaborate. Our aim is to inspire every child to be active, confident, and healthy.

PE and Sport Premium Funding 2025-2026
During the 2025-2026 academic year, the school received £19,550 in PE and Sport Premium funding from the Government. This funding was used to enhance sporting opportunities, increase participation in physical activity and support pupils' health and wellbeing.
How the funding was used
The funding was invested in a range of opportunities and resources, including:
- Extra-curricular clubs and sporting opportunities (£16,490.96)
- Sports equipment and resources (£2,402.04)
- Professional development and training for staff (£220)
- School Games and sports partnership activities
- Participation in inter-school sports competitions
Supporting all pupils
We used our funding to ensure that sporting opportunities were accessible to all children, including:
- Pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Pupils with long-term medical conditions
- Disadvantaged pupils
- Supporting and increasing opportunities for girls' participation in sport and physical activity.
Swimming achievement
Our Year 6 pupils continue to demonstrate strong swimming and water safety skills:
- 93.4% can swim at least 25 metres competently and confidently.
- 91.2% can use a range of swimming strokes effectively.
- 98.9% can perform safe self-rescue in water-based situations.

We will continue to work with local sports partnerships and organisations to provide high-quality PE, competitive sport and enrichment opportunities, helping pupils develop healthy, active lifestyles and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
