Art at The Grove Junior School
At Grove Junior School, our Art and Design curriculum equips pupils with the skills and knowledge to thrive in a diverse world. Through hands-on experimentation, children develop creativity, imagination, and cultural capital. By exploring a wide range of artists, designers, and architects within their historical contexts, pupils gain a deeper appreciation of the impact of creative work across time and society.
The curriculum builds confidence in using varied tools and mediums, fostering a passion for discovery and meaningful engagement with visual art. Following a structured spiral programme from Year 3 to Year 6, pupils revisit themes and techniques to progressively refine their knowledge and skills.
By connecting learners to both their local community and the wider world, the curriculum nurtures successful, well-rounded individuals prepared to flourish and enjoy life.
